Aalborg Airport is the northernmost international airport in Denmark, the third busiest in the country. In May 2013 Aalborg Airport celebrated its 75th anniversary with the opening of the new terminal. The centre of Aalborg is accessible by taxi, bus and train, the new railway line was opened in December 2020. An excellent hotel just 50 metres from the terminal is Aalborg Airport Hotel.

The airport is located just north of Aalborg. From the south, the airport is easily accessible via exit 21 of the E45 motorway.

The airport has a modern terminal consisting of two floors. The check-in desks and security check are located on the ground floor to the left of the terminal. Aalborg Airport has a total of 11 boarding gates, 5 on the ground floor and 6 on the first floor. Aalborg Airport Lounge is located on the first floor after the security check.
