Aeroflot is the flag carrier and largest airline of Russia. The airline is headquartered in Moscow and is part of SkyTeam alliance. The airline wants to make passengers travel great distances comfortably. Aeroflot also wants to be the leader in Russian domestic and international air traffic.

Aeroflot is part of the Aeroflot Group, which is also the parent company of Aurora, Pobeda and Rossiya Airlines. In 2018, the group transported 55.7 million passengers. The airline is a SkyTeam alliance member.

History
The predecessor of Aeroflot, Dobrolet, was founded on 17 March 1923. Nine years later, in 1932, the airline chose to change its name to Aeroflot which is still its current name. In the 60s, Aeroflot became a larger company and started operating with jet aircraft. In the early 90s, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, the airline went through a large reorganisation. Aeroflot was divided into multiple regional branches.

Lounges
Aeroflot has 6 lounges spread across the airlines’ hub Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. The lounges are freely accessible for Business Class passengers, Gold or Platinum Aeroflot Bonus passengers and SkyTeam Elite passengers. In addition, the airline has spread through Russia a few dozen lounges.
Baggage
Aeroflot gives all Economy Class passengers the opportunity to take 1 piece of hand luggage with a maximum of 10 kg. Business Class passengers can take 1 piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 15 kg. In addition, all passengers are allowed to take an extra personal item with a maximum weight of 5 kg. Additionally, Economy Class passengers can take 1 piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg. Economy Class Premium and Comfort Class passengers are allowed to take 2 pieces of checked luggage with each a maximum of 23 kg. Business Class passengers can take 2 pieces of each 32 kg.
