History
Air Algérie was founded as Compagnie Générale de Transports Aériens (CGTA) in 1946. Later, in 1953, the airline changed its name to Compagnie Générale de Transports Aériens Air Algérie, shortly Air Algérie.
Baggage
Air Algérie allows passengers one piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg. On ATR flights passengers can bring only 5 kg of cabin luggage.
