The airline was established in 1989 as Compagnie Corse Mediterranee and started operating in 1990.

Air Corsica offers all passengers 8 kg of hand luggage on their ATR aircraft and 12 kg of hand luggage on their Airbus aircraft onboard. Some personal items are allowed to take on board as well.
