Air Dolomiti is an Italian regional airline which operates routes between medium-sized airports in Italy with other European cities. The airline wants to develop connection possibilities for smaller Italian cities, concentrating on frequency and quality of service.

Organization

Air Dolomiti is part of the Lufthansa Group and executes some flights for Lufthansa Regional. The airline has about 550 employees. Air Dolomiti has a codeshare agreement with 4 large airlines, Air China, All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa and United Airlines.

History

The airline was founded at the end of 1989 and started operating in 1991. Since its establishment, the airline expanded steadily over the years. In 2003, Lufthansa acquired 100% of the airlines’ shares which makes the airline one of the many Lufthansa subsidiaries.

Baggage

Air Dolomiti has three fare types, Light, Plus and Emotion. With the Light fare, passengers can take only 8 kg of cabin luggage and checked baggage is only allowed for an additional fee. With the Plus fare, passengers are allowed to take one piece of checked luggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg and one cabin bag of 8 kg. Passengers traveling with an Emotion fare ticket are allowed to take one checked bag with a maximum of 32 kg and two cabin bags with a maximum of 8 kg each.
