Croatia Airlines is the flag carrier of Croatia and operates flights mainly between Croatia and other European countries. The airline wants to provide passengers with good connections between Croatia and other parts of the world through its partner airlines. Croatia Airlines was founded by the Croatian government to contribute to the development of tourism in the country.
Organization
Croatia Airlines is for almost 100 percent owned by the government of the Republic of Croatia. The Government of Croatia plans to sell 70% of its share within a short period of time. The airline is a Star Alliance member and has about 1,000 employees.

History
Croatia Airlines was founded and started operating within Croatia in 1989. A few years later, in 1992, the airline launched its first international flight to Frankfurt (Germany) and joined as a member of the International Air Transport Association. At the end of 2004, the airline became a member of Star Alliance.

Baggage
Economy Class passengers that fly with Croatia Airlines are permitted to bring one piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg. In addition, passengers are allowed to take one personal item with them on board. Business Class passengers can bring two pieces of hand luggage of 8 kg and also a personal item.
