Cyprus Airways is the flag carrier of Cyprus. The airline operates flights to Central Europe and countries in the Mediterranean area. The airline is trying to build a strong and reliable airline after its predecessor went bankrupt. Cyprus Airways is also trying to help increase tourism in Cyprus with its operation.

All Cyprus Airways flights are executed by the Cypriotian Charlie Airlines which has the right to use the national airlines’ brand name. Charlie Airlines is for 40% owned by the Russian airline S7 Airlines.

History
After the bankruptcy of Cyprus Airways in 2016, the Cypriot government gave Charlie Airlines the right to use the brand name. In 2017, Charlie Airlines started operating as Cyprus Airways.

Baggage
The amount of cabin baggage that passengers can bring on board depends on the travel class. Economy Basic passengers are allowed to take one personal item with them on board and check-in one bag with a maximum weight of 10 kg. Economy Flex passengers can bring one cabin bag with a maximum weight of 10 kg and an additional check-in bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg.
