Edelweiss Air is a Swiss leisure and charter airline based in Zürich. The airline operates continental and intercontinental flights. The airline wants to show itself as the carrier that makes every holiday dream come true, whether it is a beach destination, a city trip or cultural travel.

Edelweiss Air is a subsidiary of Swiss International Airlines which is fully owned by the German aviation giant, Lufthansa Group. The airline has about 1,100 employees of which is about 10% ground staff and 90% aircrew.

History
Edelweiss Air was founded and started operating in 1995. In 2008 was the airline sold to Swiss International Airlines, which was already taken over by Lufthansa in 2005.

Baggage
All passengers are allowed to bring at least one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg and one personal item on board. Business Class passengers are allowed to bring another piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg. Economy Class passengers can bring one piece of 23 kg of checked luggage while Business Class passengers are allowed to bring two pieces of 32 kg.
