Emirates is the flag carrier of the Emirate of Dubai. The airline is the largest airline in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. Emirates operates flights between Dubai and more than 80 countries.

Emirates was founded in 1985 with the backing of the royal family of Dubai after Gulf Air began to cut back its service to Dubai. In the 90s the airline approached a rapid growth and fastly increased its number of destinations.

Economy Class passengers are permitted to bring 1 piece of cabin baggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg on all routes. Business and First Class passengers may bring 1 large piece of cabin luggage and a smaller personal item with them. Each piece of baggage may not exceed the weight of 7 kg.
