Eurowings is a large German low-cost airline and operates flights to many destinations in Europe. The airline also operates some long-haul flights which are expected to be ceased in the coming years due to strategic purposes. Eurowings is one of the largest budget carriers in Europe.
Organization
Eurowings is part of the Lufthansa Group and has approximately 10,000 employees. The airline has its own frequent flyer program which is called Boomerang Club but also participates in the frequent flyer program of Lufthansa Group, Miles & More. Eurowings is not a Star Alliance member unlike other airlines in the Lufthansa Group,

History
Eurowings was founded in 1993 and started operating one year later. Until 2014, the airline was part of Lufthansa Regional. In that year the airline started operating on behalf of Germanwings. In 2015, Eurowings took over all Germanwings flights. However, Germanwings still exists and executes some flights for Eurowings.

Baggage
The amount of hand luggage that passengers are allowed to bring on board depends on the travel class. All passengers are allowed to bring at least one cabin bag with a maximum weight of 8 kg which could be checked-in if necessary. Passengers that travel with Smart class can bring their 8 kg hand luggage on board guaranteed. BEST/BIZ class passengers can bring two pieces of hand luggage with each a maximum weight of 8 kg. For checked luggage, Budget class passengers need to pay an additional fee. Smart class passengers can bring one piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg for free while BEST passengers can bring two pieces of 23 kg.
