Flybe is a British regional airline that flies between many British cities, Ireland and Continental Europe. Flybe wants to bring people together, the airline focusses on short distances that are slightly too large for other means of transport.

Flybe is owned by the airline Connect Airways, which was founded by Virgin Atlantic, Stobart Aviation and the investment company Cyrus Capital Partners.. The British regional carrier has approximately 2,500 employees.

History
Flybe was founded in 1979 as Jersey European Airways. The name changed several times over the years. In 1985 the name was changed to Jersey European and in 2000 to British European. Eventually, in 2002, the name got changed to Flybe. Until the acquisition of Flybe by Connect Airways in February 2019, the airline was a fully independent organisation.
