History
Garuda Indonesia was founded in 1947 as ‘KLM Interinsulair Bedrijf’. At the beginning of 1949, the airline changed its name to Indonesian Airways. Less than 1 year later, the airline changed its name to Garuda Indonesian Airways.

Garuda Indonesia permits passengers to bring 1 piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg. Economy Class passengers can bring 1 piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg while Business Class passengers can bring luggage up to 30 kg and First Class passengers up to 40 kg.
