LOT is the national carrier of Poland and its route network stretches across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. The airline wants to be the most hospitable and positive airline while keeping Polish traditions in mind.

LOT is owned by the government of Poland. The company has about 4,200 employees. LOT Charter is a fully owned subsidiary of LOT, at the same time has LOT a 49% stake in the Estonian airline Nordica.

History
LOT Polish Airlines was founded in 1928 and is one of the oldest still existing airlines in the world. In 1930, the airline became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). During World War II, the airline needed to cease its operation. After the war, the airline slowly started its operation again with the first flight in 1946 from Warsaw to Gdansk. Later that year, the airline also restarted its international operation. In the 70s, LOT was the first Polish airline that started operating transatlantic flights among which the first scheduled flight between Warsaw and New York. In the 21st century, the airline became a member of Star Alliance and also becomes a Miles & More program partner.

Baggage
LOT’s Economy Saver and Economy Class passengers are allowed to bring 1 piece of cabin baggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg and 1 personal item on board. LOT Premium Economy passengers can bring the same amount of baggage on continental routes and can bring 2 pieces of cabin luggage with a total maximum of 12 kg on intercontinental routes (excluding 1 personal item). The amount of hold luggage that travellers are allowed to bring on their flight depends on the route and travel class. Please consult website LOT for more information.
