History
Royal Jordanian was founded in 1963 as Alia Airlines and started operating in that same year. In 1986, the airline changed its name to its current name Royal Jordanian. In 2001, the airline official name became ‘Alia – The Royal Jordanian Airlines Company’, however, most people still use the name Royal Jordanian.
