History
Saudia was established in September 1945 after U.S. President Roosevelt offered a Douglas DC-3 to King Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud. In 2016, the airline started a low-cost subsidiary which is called Flyadeal.
Lounges
Saudia has its own Alfursan lounges which can be found on all of its home bases in Saudi Arabia and at Cairo Airport. Passengers that fly with Saudia can also use all SkyTeam lounges across the world and some additional partner lounges. Please consult website Saudia for more information.
Baggage
Passengers that travel with Saudia can bring at least one bag of 7 kg on board in Economy Class and 9 kg in Business and First Class. Checked baggage can be taken free of charge for passengers travelling in Economy Basic (23 kg) or Flex (2x 23 kg) while passengers in Economy Saver needs to pay an additional charge to bring a piece of checked luggage. Business Class Basic passengers are permitted to bring 1 bag of 32 kg with them while Business Class Flex and First Class passengers can bring 2 pieces of 32 kg.
