History
Singapore Airlines was founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways. In 1963, the airlines’ name was changed to Malaysian Airways and in 1966 to Malaysia-Singapore Airlines. In 1972, the airline split into two different airlines, Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airline System (MAS).
Baggage
Passengers flying in Economy Class can bring 1 piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg on board. Business Class, First Class, and Suites passengers are permitted to bring 2 pieces of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg on board. In addition, every passenger is allowed to bring 1 personal item on board. The amount of allowed checked baggage depends on the travel class and destination.
