SunExpress is a Turkish charter airline that operates flights to destinations in Europe, Asia and North Africa. The airlines’ mission is to unite people, countries and culture together. The airline wants to present itself as a true sun specialist with numerous flights between Europe and Turkey.

SunExpress is owned by two major European Airlines: Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. SunExpress has also a German subsidiary which is SunExpress Deutschland. The airline has nowadays about 4,000 employees.

History
SunExpress was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between two airlines: Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. The airline started operating in 1990 with a charter service between Frankfurt and Antalya.
