TAP Air Portugal is the national airline of the European country, Portugal. The airline operates flights within Europe and offers a lot of flights between Portugal and Brazil. TAP Air wants to provide customers with world-class service while being profitable and sustainable.
TAP Air Portugal was founded as Transportes Aéreos Portugueses in 1945. One year later, the airline started operating with flights from Lisbon to Madrid. In that same year, the airline also established the longest route flown with the DC-3, Lisbon to Lourenço Marques, which is nowadays known as Maputo. The flight stopped on its way in Luanda. In the years that followed, the airline increased its operation with domestic flights, other continental flights and lines to other former colonies such as Brazil. Nowadays, the airline is a well-known European airline that focusses on itineraries between Europe and Brazil, with a transfer in Portugal.

On TAP Air flights from or to South America, Economy Class passengers can bring 1 piece of cabin luggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg while on other flights the maximum weight is 8 kg. On all flights (except to and from South America) passengers can bring an additional personal item with a maximum weight of 2 kg. Business Class passengers are permitted to bring 2 pieces of cabin luggage with each a maximum weight of 8 kg and 1 personal item with the maximum weight of 2 kg on all flights.
