Ural Airlines is a Russian regional airline that operates flights within Russia and to destinations in surrounding countries. The airline is one of the fastest developing carriers in Russia.
Organization
Ural Wings is the largest stakeholder of Ural Airlines which holds about 75% the airlines’ shares. The remaining shares are owned by the Ural Transport Bank and some other small shareholders. Ural Airlines has a codeshare agreement with a handful of other airlines, among which KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines and Belavia. The airline has about 3,500 employees.
History
Ural Airlines was founded in 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises and became a department of the Russian airline Aeroflot. At the end of 1993, the airline started operating under its current name. In 2018, the airline passed the audit to join the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
