Abu Dhabi International Airport is, after Dubai International Airport, the busiest airport in the United Arab Emirates. The airport is the main base for Etihad Airways, the airline operates mainly from Terminal 3, which was opened in 2009.
Where is Abu Dhabi International Airport situated?
The airport is located east of the city centre and consists of three terminals. Abu Dhabi International Airport is easily accessible by car via the E10 and E20 motorways.
How many terminals does Abu Dhabi International Airport have?
There are three terminals at Abu Dhabi International Airport, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are used by Etihad Airways and connected to each other, between these terminals and Terminal 2 you can travel with the free inter-terminal shuttle bus. The bus leaves every 15 minutes from Terminal 1 Entrance 5 and Terminal 2 Departures. By the end of 2019 a new terminal (Midfield Terminal) will be opened which will be located in between both runways.
The old but beautiful Terminal 1 and modern Terminal 3 are connected on landside as well as airside. Terminal 1 has 19 gates from 3 to 22 (gate 13 does not exist). Terminal 3 is larger and has 32 gates numbered from 28 to 61. Gates 36-57 are located in a large building south of Terminal 3, from here buses will take passenger to their flight. It is a 10-minute walk between terminals T1 and T3 of Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Tickets for the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum, opened in 2017, can be reserved ahead of time. You can also book a guided tour to the Yas Marina Circuit, located on an artificial island that was specifically built to host the Formule 1 Grand Prix.
