Bus and train to Auckland
It is possible to travel by public transport from Auckland Airport to the centre of the city, it’s a combination of bus and train. First, you should take Airporter bus 380 from one of both terminals of Auckland Airport in the direction of Manukau railway station. It operates every 15 to 20 minutes during the day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Travel time to Manukau is 30 minutes, it takes 20 minutes to get to Papatoetoe railway station. At this train station, people can transfer to the STH train in the direction of Britomart, the central station in Auckland. Trains run every 10 to 20 minutes between 05:30 hours and 22:30 hours. The journey time from Papatoetoe railway station to Britomart Transport Centre is 30 minutes.
Tickets
A ticket for Airporter bus 380 costs 3.50 NZD for a single ride, tickets are available from the bus driver. Train tickets can be bought at Papatoetoe railway station, the price for a ticket to Britomart train station is 7.50 NZD. Travellers in possession of an AT HOP card will only pay a price of 4.90 NZD for the full trip. You can buy AT HOP cards at the desk of Auckland i-SITE Visitor Information Centre in the International Terminal. The price is 10.00 NZD, it needs to be topped up with at least 5.00 NZD. SkyBus to Auckland – BUY TICKETS
SkyBus offers a direct bus service between Auckland Airport and the centre of the city, the service is known as Auckland City Express. The bus runs 24/7 and departs every 10 to 30 minutes, including all public holidays. The Auckland City Express runs from International Terminal and Domestic Terminal to SkyBus City Lounge at 396 Queen Street in Downtown Auckland. Along the way, it stops in at bus stops in Mount Eden and Central Business District. The journey time from the airport to the centre of Auckland is about 45 minutes.
