BTS Skytrain runs every 3 to 7 minutes, a train ride from Mo Chit to the famous Siam Square takes 14 minutes and a ticket costs 44 Baht. MRT subways run every 10 minutes, a metro ride from Chatuchak Park MRT to Hua Lamphong takes 31 minutes and costs 38 Baht. The largest train station in Bangkok is also directly accessible by bus 29 from the airport. The popular Sukhumvit district is accessible with both BTS (station Asok) and MRT (station Sukhumvit), the journey time is 20 minutes.

It is quite common to travel by taxi from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, the larger airport of the two. For a taxi, you will pay 400 Baht (11 euros), travel time is about one hour. However, most backpackers choose for the free shuttle bus between both airports, operated by AOT (Airports of Thailand). The journey time varies, 50 minutes when traffic is light and 100 minutes when traffic is heavy. There is a bus in both directions every 20 minutes, between 05.00 hours and 00.00 hours. The shuttle bus stop can be found on the first floor of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Only if you are in possession of an airline ticket (departing flight) you may use this free shuttle service.
Airport LimoBus Express to Bangkok (Khao San Road and Silom)
Airport LimoBus Express offers a somewhat more comfortable travel option. This bus service started in 2015 and has two routes, the Khao San route and the Silom / Lumphini Park route. Every half hour between 09.30 hours and 00.30 hours a bus leaves in the direction of the city. For backpackers and tourists who want to go to the old part of Bangkok, the bus service to and from Khao San Road is most interesting.
Travel time by Airport LimoBus Express from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Khao San Road is approximately 45 minutes. The Silom / Lumphini Park route stops at Silom Road street near Sala Daeng BTS Station (Skytrain) and Si Lom MRT Station, and at Ratchadamri BTS Station. You have to take into account a journey time of 45 minutes. The buses can accommodate a total of 33 travellers, the seats are comfortable and there is free WiFi.
