Flughafen BER Terminal 1-2 Bahnhof is located under Terminal 1 at a maximum 5-minute walk from Terminal 1 Arrivals and Terminal 2 Arrivals. From here, trains run to the capital of Germany. The regional trains FEX Flughafenexpresszug, RE8 and RB23 offer the most frequent connection, you have a travel option to and from the airport every 15 minutes. It is also possible to travel to the city centre by Intercity train and S-Bahn S9, however the Intercity runs not as often and S-Bahn S9 takes 15 to 20 minutes more to Alexanderplatz and Berlin Hauptbahnhof. The journey time from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to Berlin Hauptbahnhof is 28 to 41 minutes, depending on which train you take. From 2025, the FEX Airport-Express will run to Berlin Hbf via Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz, reducing travel time to just 20 minutes. Bus and metro/U-Bahn to Berlin
Next to the train and S-Bahn, you can travel by bus between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and the city of Berlin. The airport bus stops are located in front of Terminal 1 Arrivals. One of the bus services is bus line X7 that connects Terminal 1-2 with metro station Rudow, the journey time is 16 minutes from Terminal 1-2. Metro line 7 (U-Bahn) runs between Rudow in the southeast of Berlin and Rathaus Spandau in the northwest of the city. The metro connects Rudow with the south of Berlin, including Neukölln and Kreuzberg. The journey time from metro station Rudow to U-Bahnhof Möckernbrücke (U1, U3, U7) 1.5 kilometres southeast of Checkpoint Charlie and Jüdisches Museum is only 25 minutes. Both the bus and metro run every 5 minutes. In the future, metro line 7 will be extended to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, so that changes mode of transport is no longer necessary. The state capital of Brandenburg is directly accessible from the airport, the regional train RB22 runs between Flughafen BER Terminal 1-2 railway station and Potsdam Hauptbahnhof central station. Travel time between the airport and Potsdam is 51 minutes, trains run every hour in both directions. Keep in mind, you have to take the train to Potsdam Griebnitzsee at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, not RB22 in the direction of Königs Wusterhausen. Berlin Brandenburg Airport offers a direct connection to two major cities in eastern Germany: Dresden and Rostock. Both cities have their own airport, but with far fewer connections. A direct Intercity train runs every two hours to Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Dresden in Saxony. Trains depart from Flughafen BER Terminal 1-2 railway station. A train journey between the airport and Rostock Hbf takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, travel time from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to Dresden Hbf is 1 hour and 35 minutes.
