Worst luggage pick up. ALWAYS an extremely long wait time!
Was on a short road trip with a "friend" to Chicago. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant trip. it ended with me in the hospital having been assaulted & left in Chicago. So, I had to find an alternative form of transportation home. The hospital I was at helped me get to Midway Airport. First time traveling from there. Everything from the line at the check-in, to boarding the plane & take off went really quick for how busy they were. Topped off with great service on our smooth flight & landing 20 minutes early made for a really relaxing flight back home to MN. Thank you Delta Airlines & Midway Airport for helping me get back home safely. Definitely 5 stars!
I haven't been to Midway for multiple years now after moving away in 2017 so I was surprised by all the changes they have made. Claiming baggage was faster than it had ever been (used to take upwards of an hour). I found security to be much more functional that it ever was and with a lot more space. And the gate area had ports for your phones that actually worked and was clean. My only issue really that we had is honestly the fact they got rid of their cheaper options like McDonald's and added upscale places and I am sorry I don't want to pay 20 bucks for a breakfast sandwich. Having different price points for people traveling is so important for customers. I will never understand this choice. So just fair warning for those that may only eat McDonald's while traveling- you won't find one at good old Midway. They are trying to make the place upscale.
