Metro / “L” to Chicago
Chicago O’Hare Airport has its own metro station at a short distance from terminals T1, T2 and T3. The station O’Hare is accessible on foot via the ground floor of terminals T1, T2 and T3. If you arrive at Terminal 5 of Chicago O’Hare Airport and want to take the metro to the city, you must first take the ‘automated people mover’ ATS to O’Hare station at Terminal 2. The metro ‘Blue Line’ connects the airport to the city centre, 24 hours a day every 5 to 10 minutes. The Chicago metro is better known as the “L”, short for “elevated” because large parts of the system run on elevated tracks. Downtown Chicago subway stations (The Loop) are named Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe, Jackson and LaSalle, travel time from Chicago O’Hare Airport is 40 to 45 minutes. It takes 50 minutes to get to Clinton metro station near the iconic central station Union Station (change trains to Milwaukee).
