What is the distance from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport to the centre of Dallas and Fort Worth?

The distance from the airport to Downtown Dallas is 32 kilometres / 19.9 miles. The journey time by car is 30 minutes, however at busy times of the day it can take much longer. A drive from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport to Sundance Square in Downtown Fort Worth takes at least 40 minutes, the distance is 39 kilometres / 24.2 miles.

Public transport

DART Light Rail to Dallas

Public transportation connects the airport to the centre of Dallas, you can use the DART Light Rail. From DFW Airport Station at Terminal A, the Orange Line departs in the direction of Parker Road. The DART Light Rail runs all days of the week every 15 to 30 minutes between 04:00 hours and 23:30 hours. If you want to get to Downtown Dallas the journey time is approximately 50 minutes, you can get off at West End, Akard, St. Paul and Pearl/Arts District stations. On its way to the city, the light rail also stops at stations of University of Dalles and Dallas Love Field Airport (Southwest Airlines).

Tickets for public transportation are available from the ticket machines at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Station. One-way tickets cost $ 2.50 (Single Ride). If you travel between 09:30 hours and 14:30 hours, you are allowed to purchase a Midday Pass, which costs just $ 2.00. It is possible as well to buy a day pass for $ 6.00 or a half day pass for $ 3.00, which allows you to travel as much as you want for a full or half day on all DART buses and light rail vehicles. Train TEXRail to Fort Worth

As of January 2019, there is a direct train service from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport to the city of Fort Worth. The TEXRail train to the city leaves from DFW Airport Station Terminal B. The train takes you in 50 minutes to Fort Worth Central Station, close to Downtown Fort Worth. Tickets can be bought from the ticket machines at the railway stations, the price is $ 2.50 for adults. Children from 5 up to 19 years and seniors from 65 years pay only $ 1.00, children up to 4 years travel for free. You can also choose to buy a day pass (1-Day Multi-Ride) for $ 5.00 or $ 2.50 (Reduced Fare), to be used on the Trinity Metro buses, TEXRail and TRE (West Zone to CentrePort). Forth Worth Central Station is about 10 minutes’ walk from Sundance Square in the centre of Fort Worth. The TEXRail train runs every 60 minutes every day of the week between 05:00 hours in the morning and 01:00 hours at night. Please consult website Trinity Metro for more information.
