Train to Glasgow and Ayr

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is the only Scottish airport to have its own railway station, this ensures excellent train connections to many places in Scotland and England. Travel time to the main railway station Glasgow Central is 45 minutes. Prestwick International Airport ScotRail railway station can be reached via a covered walkway. You can buy your tickets at the station or on the train, not at the airport. All passengers travelling to and from the airport can benefit from 50% discount on a ticket (Anytime Day Single). To be entitled to this you must be in possession of an airline ticket and passport or identity card.

Due to the reduction in the price a single journey costs only £ 4.15 per person (full price is £ 8.30). The train departs every 15 to 20 minutes from Monday to Saturday, while it departs every 30 minutes on Sundays. The nearest major town can be reached by train in the other direction, the journey time to Ayr via Prestwick Town and Newton-On-Ayr is 10 minutes. A ticket costs £ 1.25 for a single journey (full price is £ 2.50). From Ayr you can travel every hour with bus 60 to Glenside near the famous Culzean Castle & Country Park.
