Hanoi Noi Bai Airport
General information
The airport Hanoi Noi Bai is located north of the city and is the second busiest airport in Vietnam after Ho Chi Minh City Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Hanoi Noi Bai Airport has become increasingly more popular with tourists want to visit Hanoi as well as Sapa and Halong Bay. The airport is the home base of flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and is also used frequently by VietJet Air and Jetstar Pacific.
At the airport, after picking up your luggage, you will find a Tourist Information desks where you can, among other things, arrange a taxi and buy a Vietnamese SIM card. In addition, there are maps of the city available, but you can’t make inquiries about public transport here.

The airport is situated north of Hanoi. By car, you can travel from Hanoi Noi Bai Airport to the centre via the AH14 and Nhật Tân Bridge (colourful light at night).
How many terminals does Hanoi Noi Bai Airport have?
The airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is used for domestic flights and the newer Terminal 2 for international flights. Terminal 1 is divided into two buildings, the larger building C and the smaller building E. Terminal 2 will see further expansion until the year 2020 to increase its capacity. After 2020 the government will decide whether the addition of a 3rd and possibly 4th terminal is required.
