Accommodations around Havana Airport
Hotels in the city
What is a good price/quality hotel in Havana?
There are many hotels in Havana. Unfortunately, they are often old and poorly maintained. In addition, the price for a hotel room is very high. This also applies to the nostalgic Hotel Nacional de Cuba and the luxurious Hotel Melia Cohiba. These hotels are located just like many other hotels in the Vedado district.
Guest in someone’s home – casas particulares
A much nicer and cheaper way to spend the night in the capital of Cuba are the so-called ‘casas particulares’. You sleep in someone’s home, but in your own room, similar to ‘bed and breakfasts’. For this you pay an average of 30 CUC per night for two people and 5 CUC per person if you also want breakfast the next morning. Sometimes it is even possible to eat with the family where you are staying. A ‘casa particular’ can be arranged on the spot or reserved online. In La Habana Vieja district, Parque Central and El Capitolio lie on the border of the tourist part of the city (east, beautiful) and the real Cuba life (west, less beautiful). Bus T1 (sightseeing) and Bus T3 (Playas del Este) of Havana Bus Tour depart from Parque Central.
