Bus to Santa Cruz de La Palma and Los Cancajos
Bus line 500 will take you from the airport to the capital of La Palma. The bus also stops at the popular tourist destination Los Cancajos which is located halfway between the airport and Santa Cruz de La Palma. Buses between the airport and the city leave every half hour in both directions. Buses operate between 06:30 a.m. and 10:40 p.m. from Monday till Friday. On the weekends and on holidays the first bus will leave from the airport half an hour later (07.00 a.m.). The short ride to Los Cancajos will take 15 minutes, travel time to bus stop ‘Antiguo Parador A’ bus stop in the centre of Santa Cruz de La Palma takes approximately 30 minutes.
A one-way bus ticket will set you back around € 2.10 when you buy it from the bus driver or € 1.70 if you are in possession of a ‘Bono card’. When you travel by bus from the airport to Santa Cruz de La Palma, you pass the city of Los Cancajos with its large sandy beach to the north of it. The beach is called ‘Playa de Los Cancajos’. Puerto Naos, located on the west side of the island, is arguably the most touristic town of La Palma.
