Car rental at Larnaca Airport

Car rental companies

There are six providers of rental cars with a presence at the airport, the names are Europcar, Astra/Petsas, HertzSixt, Avis and Budget. It is best to book a car in advance. If you don’t make a reservation it may be that there are no rental cars available anymore at Larnaca Airport, especially during the summer season.

Take a look at the options, compare prices and book an affordable rental car for your holidays in Cyprus. It will save you time, hassles and money!

Where can you find the car rental pick up and return locations at Larnaca Airport?

You can find the car hire kiosks in the Arrivals area of the terminal. After you signed the paperwork you can pick up your rental car just outside of the terminal. Because there are multiple car rental companies, it’s good to compare prices so you get the best price for your rental car.

When you want to return your rental car, follow the signs as you enter the airport. If you choose the full-to-full option, keep in mind to fill up your tank before returning it. It will save you a lot of money if you do it yourself.

Where is the nearest petrol/gas station to Larnaca Airport?

The nearest petrol station near the airport is Petrolina Petrol Station. The fuel station is located in front of Larnaca Airport, closeby the rental car companies.

What is the average fuel price in Cyprus?

The average price of gasoline in Cyprus is € 1.33 per litre. The average price of gasoline in the world is € 1.41.

Compare car rental prices

Compare prices of well-known car rental companies and local suppliers at Larnaca Airport through EasyTerra Car Rental and Rentalcars.com, save time and book online.

  1. Reserve online

Make an online reservation, directly via the website of a car rental company or through a comparison site like EasyTerra Car Rental. Never arrange your rental car upon arrival at the airport, as you will spend a lot more time at the counter and it may be that there are no cars available anymore.

  2. Credit card required

You need a credit card to make an online reservation. To rent a car, credit card companies require the rental agreement and the cardholder to be one and the same person. The car hire company will require a credit card hold at the time of rental, which can be seen as a security deposit.

  3. Tick the full-coverage box

It’s wise to tick the full-coverage box when booking your rental car, as the insurance company will cover most damages. Unfortunately, you can’t automatically assume that the insurance company will cover every form of damage. Tires and glass usually require additional insurance.

  4. Fuel full-to-full option

It’s better to choose the fuel full-to-full option, as opposed to the full-to-empty policy where you bring your rental car back without filling it up. The car rental company will then fill up the car for you but will charge you with a much higher fuel price than the regular price at the petrol station.

  5. Plan your pickup and return wisely

Car rental rates are often calculated per 24 hours. If you rent a car from 12:00 to 11:00 the next day (2 days), you’ll only be charged for one day (23 hours). This means that planning your pickup and return wisely can save you tens of euros. This is especially interesting for short rental periods.

Services that usually require an additional charge:

  • Extra driver
  • Navigation (if not built in)
  • Supplement for younger or older drivers
  • Insurance for tires, glass, roof and underbody
  • Passenger insurance (liability insurance is usually included)

Nowadays it’s very easy for car rental companies to recover fines from the client, for example for speeding or parking tickets. A fine will be forwarded to you by mail or email. You are obliged to pay the fine but you will also have to pay the costs for forwarding the penalty. This administration fee is between € 25 and € 50. Our advice… Stick to the traffic rules and drive carefully!
