Bus and metro to Los Angeles

There are many ways to get to the city by public transport, however, a transfer is necessary. The first step is the bus from the airport to LAX City Bus Transit Center bus station (Lot C Shuttle) or Aviation / LAX Station metro station (Bus G Route). Both buses leave regularly, Lot C Shuttle from Upper/Departures Level and Bus G Route from Lower/Arrivals Level. The stops can be recognized by the orange with black sign ‘LAX Shuttle to Lot C’ and the blue sign indicating ‘LAX Shuttle Airline Connection’. At LAX City Bus Transit Center you can take several buses in the direction of Los Angeles, but you always have to change to another bus to actually get into the center. The total journey time for this trip is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

For one journey you will pay twice $ 1.75, so in total it’s $ 3.50. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and paid in cash. You can also use a TAP card. At Aviation / LAX Station you can travel further with Green Line Metro to 7th Street / Metro Center Station in the center of Los Angeles, but you still have to change to Blue Line Metro in Willowbrook. At the end of 2019, the Crenshaw/LAX Line will be opened and two new metro stations close to Los Angeles Airport will be taken into use, namely Aviation/96th Street and Aviation/Century. These stations also get connected to the new northern connection of Green Line. In 2021 Aviation/96th Street station will be connected to the terminals of the airport by the LAX people mover.

Bus to Venice and Santa Monica

If you want to visit Venice or Santa Monica, you can take Big Blue Bus Route 3 in the direction of Downtown Santa Monica (SM) Station.
