S-Bahn S1 takes 46 minutes to get to München Hauptbahnhof, travel time by S-Bahn S8 to the main railway station is 41 minutes. The centre of the city (Marienplatz) can be reached rather quickly by S-Bahn S8 (38 minutes), whereas S-Bahn S1 needs more time to get there (49 minutes). S1 and S8 run with 20 minutes intervals during both day and evening to and from the airport. Thus you have a travel option every 10 minutes. München Ostbahnhof is the terminus of S-Bahn S1, but do not let this confuse you. München Ostbahnhof can be reached more quickly with S-Bahn S8 (31 minutes)
