Public transport

Train Flytoget to Oslo and Drammen

The most comfortable way of travelling to and from Oslo Airport is high-speed rail Flytoget, also known as Airport Express Train. Every 10 minutes a train departs from platform 3 to the main railway station Oslo S, three times per hour direct and three times per hour with a short stop at Lillestrøm Station and onwards to Drammen Station. Flytoget departs every 20 minutes on Saturday and every 10 to 20 minutes on Sunday. Depending on which train you will take, travel time to Oslo Central Station (Oslo Sentralstasjon) is 19 or 22 minutes. If you have to be in the west of Oslo you better choose an indirect train, after 28 minutes you can get off at Nationaltheatret Station.

A ticket can be purchased in advance through the website and app of Flytoget, and from ticket machines at Oslo Airport Gardermoen (Flytoget tickets and fares). Contactless payment with your credit card is another possibility. Children under 16 years can travel for free when accompanied by an adult. The prices for a train ride to Oslo can be found below. Drammen is three times per hour the terminus of the train, the price for adults is 280 NOK. The journey time to the fifth largest city in Norway is 60 minutes, thus not faster than the regular train service of Vy. Flytoget trains depart from platform 3 at Oslo Airport. Train to Oslo and Drammen

The cheapest way to get into the city centre is the regular train of Vy Norwegian State Railways. Every 10 to 20 minutes a train departs from the airport (Oslo Lufthavn) to the main railway station (Oslo S). Tickets cost 118 NOK for a single trip and are available from the ticket vending machines and ticket desks, another possibility is purchasing it online. Children from 6 up to 17 years pay 46 NOK for a one-way ticket, the price is 57 NOK for seniors from 67 years of age. Children up to 5 years can travel free at any time by train in Norway.

A train ticket entitles you to change means of public transport in Oslo in order to get to your final destination. A ticket is valid in 4 zones for a period of 2.5 hours. Travel time from Oslo Airport to the city and vice versa is 23 minutes, the regional trains R10, R11 and local train L12 leave from platform 1 and platform 4 at the train station of Oslo Airport and always stop at Lillestrøm Station. Flybussen to Oslo

It is also possible to travel by bus between the airport and Oslo, travel time from Oslo Airport to Oslo Bus Terminal in the centre of the city is 45 to 50 minutes. This travel option is available two times per hour, in the direction of the city and the airport. This service is operated by Flybussen, Linje FB5A and FB5B. For every paying adult four children up to 17 years of age can travel for free, children up to 5 years of age always travel for free. Children from 6 up to 17 years, students and seniors pay a reduced rate, namely 129 NOK per single journey. In comparison to the trains, Flybussen is relatively expensive. Vy Flybussen to Fredrikstad

Fredrikstad is Norway’s sixth largest city, located southeast of Oslo. Bus line FB11 connects Oslo Airport with the centre of Fredrikstad. The journey time from the airport to Fredrikstad is 2 hours. Tickets are available online for 355 NOK, next to this it is possible to buy tickets at the airport. In Fredrikstad you can change to the bus or train to Sarpsborg.
