Train to Palermo
Palermo Airport has its own railway station (Punta Raisi) where you can catch a train to Palermo, the train service is called Trinacria Express. The train station is located beneath the airport terminal in the designated underground rail facility. Travel time to and from the main railway station Palermo Centrale is 50 to 65 minutes.
If you have to be north of the city centre, it’s wiser to get off at Palermo Notarbartolo, the journey time is approximately 40 minutes. Twice an hour there is a train towards Palermo and Palermo Airport. Trains to and from the airport run from early in the morning until late in the evening.

Prestia e Comandè to Palermo
Another option is to travel by bus from Palermo Airport to Palermo, compared to the train, there is little difference in terms of travel time and money. The buses of transport company Prestia e Comandè need 50 minutes to cover the distance between the airport and the main railway station Palermo Centrale, the bus stop is in the street Via Tommaso Fazello. One of the last stops is Piazza Ruggiero Settimo / Via Emerico Amari (Teatro Politeama Garibaldi), the journey time is 40 minutes. This stop is conveniently located close to the harbour and hotels in the north of Palermo’s city centre. The bus stop Via Roma is closest to the old town of Palermo, the journey time is 45 minutes.
Every half hour there is a bus from the airport and from the city. The last bus from the airport leaves at 00:30 hours, the first bus from the city departs already at 04:00 hours.

Prestia e Comandè tickets are slightly cheaper online, namely € 6.00 for a single ticket and € 10.00 for a return. It is better to book tickets in advance, because you may have to wait for the next bus if it is already full when you arrive. Children up to 2 years travel for free. Bus transportation to Trapani, Agrigento, Porto Empedocle, Menfi, Sciacca and Ribera
Some other places in Sicily are also directly accessible by bus from Palermo Airport. Buses of Segesta Autolinee run to and from Trapani a few times per day. Travel time is 1 hour and 10 minutes, tickets are available from the bus driver for € 10.00 per person. Check out the timetable via Buscenter. Tourist destinations like Agrigento, Porto Empedocle (Autolinee Licata), Menfi, Sciacca and Ribera (Autolinee Gallo) can be reached by bus as well.
