The Leonardo Express is the fastest travel option between Rome Fiumicino Airport and the city, you can make use of this non-stop train service 365 days a year. A journey to Rome’s main railway station takes 32 minutes. The Leonardo Express departs every 15 to 30 minutes from the airport and Roma Termini (platforms 23/24).

Train and metro to Rome
The regional train FL1 offers a frequent service between Rome Fiumicino Airport and the city but does not have a direct connection to the main railway station Roma Termini. FL1 runs every 15 minutes to and from the major train station in the south of Rome. You can reach the centre of Rome by taking the train to Roma Ostiense (32 minutes). From here it is possible to transfer to metro line B, the journey from metro station Piramide (near Roma Ostiense) to Roma Termini metro station via Circo Massimo, Colosseo and Cavour takes 7 minutes.

The price of a ticket for the metro is € 1.50, you can also buy a ticket for 1 day (24 hours = € 7.00), 2 days (48 hours = € 12.50) or 3 days (72 hours = € 18.00). In addition, the regional train FL1 stops at the larger train stations Roma Trastevere (27 minutes), Roma Tuscolana (41 minutes) and Roma Tiburtina (47 minutes). The price of a train ticket is € 8.00 per person. For each adult, one child between the age of 4 and 11 years can travel for free.

The cheapest way to get to the city centre or main railway station Roma Termini is by bus of Terravision. For a relatively low price Terravision offers transport from Terminal 3 (bus stop 7) to the centre of Rome in 55 minutes, however during rush hours it could take more time. Approximately every 45 minutes a bus departs from Rome Fiumicino Airport and the railway station (Roma Termini, Via Giovanni Giolitti n. 38).
