I echo all the negative reviews. I can only assume some tree-hugging nut-eater designed this place in order to force people to go on a hike. There will be many cardiac events in this place when people unaccustomed to the altitude fly here and are met with a 1.25 mile hike from their B gate to baggage claim with no place to sit and rest and darn few moving sidewalks. The dim-bulbs that designed this place accommodated only the young and fit. Only thing missing is some red rocks and you wouldn’t need to go to Moab for a hike. This place makes Chicago O’Hare look like accommodating.

Wow! Just flew into the SLC Airport for the first time in several years. New, big, bright and very impressive! Such a huge upgrade and such a great way to welcome visitors. Signs were easy to follow, big, wide aisles and easy connections for passenger pick-up and ground transportation. I'll be taking TRAX back to the airport today and was excited to learn about direct connections and easy access from downtown. If I lived here or had reason to travel here often I would be happy to call it my "home airport." Well done!

I am in my mid 70s and I consider myself a pretty well seasoned traveler. Over the years I have done a fair amount of traveling both domestically and internationally. I agree that the new Salt Lake airport is a total disaster. From the extremely long walks, to the grouchy and unfriendly security personnel, to the poor signage, the narrow moving sidewalks, the inefficient baggage carousels, to the horrible crush at passenger pick-up. If the main function of an airport is to move passengers through efficiently, this one fails on all counts. I could live with the poor choice of shops, food vendors and the ugly design, but passengers have to be able to flow smoothly! Did anyone even consider putting a train system in BEFORE they build the airport? I agree that it is a total waste of 4 billion tax dollars! About the only fix I can see is to level it and start again! I would give it zero stars if I could.

Absolutely the worst new airport in America. Designed by two year olds with building blocks at best. It is easy to see that when they finish the B terminal it won’t be any better. It is a Delta hub and the only Delta Sky Club is not close to any gates at all. Ugly and very unfriendly to travelers.

I think the Romans could have designed a better airport. A kindergarten class in China definitely would have come up with a better design. How could 4.1 billion Dollars be wasted on such a complete failure? Not only is the layout terrible, but the luggage from 9 flights will arrive at one carousel. Suitcases are piling up in layers and one can't even get to their luggage. Yet other luggage carousels are completely empty. Inconceivable that nobody can improve upon this. The airport is fairly clean and there are a reasonable amount of toilets. However I think the design is ugly and tacky. The choice of fancy high end stores is likewise ridiculous. 4.1 Billion Dollars we tax payers will never see again. And clearly we did not get to weigh in on the design and the terrible decisions made.

My family is from SLC. I'm a Delta Airlines million miler and used to love SLC airport when visiting family. The new SLC is terrible. Layout has zero planning, especially for our aging families. SLC is a simple copy of Detroit.

We just returned from Portland to the SLC airport. What kind of engineers designed that place? It's a total disaster!!! Drove from SW Colorado to Salt Lake (6 hour trip) to have better airfare, but that will never happen again. My husband has a back problem and the long wait in security, then over a mile walk to get to our gate, without a cart to take us, was almost too much for him. No chairs to sit for a few minutes and regroup on the way. When flying back to SLC, the signage to baggage area isn't great and the long walk isn't any better. I wouldn't advise anyone to use that airport. The old one worked fine several years ago before they built this new one. This new one doesn't work for passengers. What a waste of money!

Give me a break. The airport is half done. The layout is good. I like the looks of the facility and it is a lot cleaner than most other large airports. The old airport, which I was pretty fond of was too small and had it's issues too. When the terminals are completed it will be even better. Yes the walk between terminal A and B is long, I know that it can be challenging since I have mobility issues myself, but there are services available, just be a little patient and ask for help. Security is not nearly the mess I have seen at other airports and all large airports have ridiculously busy times too. Most of the other problems will improve with time. Again, the airport is only half complete.

Hoping Breeze Airlines will add more routes out of Provo because I'd rather drive to Provo then go through the SLC airport mess. Might be pretty but not passenger friendly.

By far the worst airport that I have ever experienced even though I am from Utah. Customer service is horrible and unless you are flying delta, you have to walk over a mile to get to your gate! When you arrive back, it is impossible to get from the airport to general pickup. All exits lead to rental car or shuttle/ride share. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS AIRPORT TO MY WORST ENEMY! AVOID AT all cost!!!!!!! Would rate -10 stars.

Horrible airport with counter-intuitive design. The old one was a gem and they could have expanded on its theme. People with mobility difficulties must have nightmares - I saw zero wheelchairs, zero electric carts. Nothing about Utah or SLC displayed. Forget food. Will seriously re-think how to get to Utah in the future. I would give it a zero rating but the review apparently requires at least one.

Whomever designed this airport clearly has never been in an airport before and whomever runs it has never been a passenger. My 11 year old would do a much better job than these crooks! Salt Lake City tax payers you've been robbed! Please demand your $4.1 billion back and get the airport you deserve!
SLC is unbelievably the WORST AIRPORT I've ever experienced in my over 1.5 million miles flown! A 25 minute power walk between security and the gates! Then coming back it took SLC 1h 9 minutes to deliver my bags! Even the airline staff is frustrated and told me it's been like this for over a year. SLC leadership can't even get the conveyor system to work in over a year! By the way there are no seats while you wait for your bag... the signage is the opposite of intuitive... I've been in very poor countries and they have far better airports for a fraction of the cost!

I am a frequent International flyer. This is the worst airport in the United States. Starting from only one security checkpoint. When it is busy the lines go all around luggage carousels. There is no trams to help passengers get to gates in a timely manner, instead long ridiculous walks. Over a mile for B gates. The paintings on the walls are ugly. They look like they were done by a kindergartens. What happened to the beautiful Utah landscapes that show off what Utah has to offer? Confusing signs to drop off and pickup passengers. So many great ideas at airports across the US to pattern after. The new Salt Lake City airport needs to start over.

I’ve been in hundreds of airports and this is the worst one, by far. If you must go to a B gate plan at least an hours walk. I will avoid this airport at all costs. A wheel chair is a must for anyone that has any walking issues. Horrible place.

I live in SLC and fly often. The new airport is a $4.1 Billion Dollar Mess. Avoid it if at all possible. We locals are stuck with this abomination for decades to come. I do not know of one local traveler who likes the new airport - IT IS HORRIBLE. The designers should be fired or sued IMO - someone should be held accountable for the monstrosity it is. Everything from walk times; car pick-up access / capacity; to internal design, layout and food. AWFUL.

Are you kidding me?

I can clear security in 5 min but it takes a 20 min hard walk to get to gate.

You have a serious problem as in now you will be clogging up the hallways with vehicles to move persons and no one will be getting around well. What a crap design

Then to top it off since you do thane gates you drop off persons at the farthest point away from the exit to ravel the whole mess again after riding a bus for 5 min.

Get it figured out.

What a horribly designed arrival pick-up scheme. I spent 30 minutes getting from the park-n-wait to the arrival area due to mega traffic only at the airport! This was on July 2, at 9:30 PM. Once I get there, the 2 friends I was picking up had to walk from further down because I couldn't get closer. So who walks up? The Attendant telling me to move on and telling me the biggest lie ever that it only takes 2 minutes to come back around, when I just spent 20 minutes! I would suggest using Provo Airport, or even driving to Las Vegas...you will get there faster than using SLC Airport.

Think next time we want to fly somewhere we’ll either consider driving instead, or if it’s a really long trip we might drive to Las Vegas and fly out of there. The new SLC airport design is a disaster. Absurd.

Do NOT stay in the airport if you are transiting through, transit passengers are restricted to an area with no food or water until just under an hour to boarding time. The officers are very unhelpful and the reason for this detention was never made
clear. So if you are transiting, arrange to leave the airport if you can, if not come armed with food and water.

This was the worst airport experience in 20 years of traveling in Europe. To change flights it took us 40 minutes walking with our suitcases (1 bus and 1 train), at 9:00 p.m. all the few cafes were closed, there were only vending machines. All the reviews say so but the staff is ridiculously rude.

As a world traveler having visited 182 independent countries in 45 years I must render my opinion. How in the world can we design and construct a port for the future. An airport lacking a prime and number 1 feature, which is ramps to embark and disembark the aircraft. I’ve difficulties swallowing that. I’d prefer an explanation. Otherwise “though small” the terminal is beautiful, classy and convenient.

Aeroporto di Treviso è il fratello minore, non nel bene ma solo nel male, di quello di Bologna, se li conosci li eviti! ma purtroppo a volte non puoi farne a meno! Troppo piccoli per il numero dei passeggeri, anche nei periodi di bassa stagione, persone sedute per terra ovunque, bagni insufficienti, aria pesante e viziata alla faccia del propagarsi dei virus. Chi di dovere dovrebbe farli chiudere fino ad adeguamento, gli aeroporti più intelligenti hanno approfittato del lungo periodo di look down per farlo.

Je voyage très souvent au départ de Lyon.
La fermeture du T2 rend les choses très difficiles. L'enregistrement au T1 est long, des queues sans fin au risque de louper son vol, même en venant 2h30 à l'avance pour un vol vers Bruxelles, c'est limite.
Les agents du contrôle de la sécurité se prennent pour ce qu'ils ne sont pas jouant les cow-boys. Disgracieux, négligents, irrespectueux, voire agressifs. On a l'impression d'avoir à faire à une bande de salariés, là pour freiner le système et pas le faciliter. La conception du T1 n'a pas été bien conçue, on monte et on descends tout le temps. J'ose à peine parler du contrôle des passeports - surtout lorsque l'on voyage à l'intérieur de l'espace Schengen.....On débarque de l'avion, on monte un escalator, le contrôle automatique - lorsqu'il fonctionne, et là encore, on doit redescendre pour récupérer les bagages. Une perte de temps inconcevable.
Je trouve que pour une ville aussi orgueilleuse et pretentieuse, son aéroport n'est pas à la hauteur. Des détalles de couloirs sans tapis roulant, sauf un lorsque l'on arrive de la gare.
Un salon grand voyageur hors de prix, même pour les fréquents flyers, business etc.
Un élément positifs, la navette Rhône Express, rien à dire

My two nieces are currently travelling back to the Uk from Reina Sofia. Whilst traversing security they were asked “are you bad girl? Eh?” And another guard shouted at them both “aye,aye,aye”!!! Under no circumstances is this behaviour unacceptable or professional. I don’t care what country you work in, this is disrespectful and disgusting behaviour. Who the hell do Tenerife security “women” think they are? My nieces are not targets for Spanish bullies with their own agendas and I WILL be filing a complaint with the airport authorities. I’m disgusted and angry. No provocative, no justification! Abhorrent behaviour… I would rate minus if I could. They’re sick!

Mardi 7 Mars 2023 je prends le de 9h50 à destination de Bordeaux,je tiens a dénoncer le comportement honteux des policiers qui étaient devant la porte d’accès à l’intérieur de l’avion.
Ils voulaient me prendre de force des choses dans ma valise et après mon refus l’un d’eux avec la complicité de deux autre policiers un homme et une femme m’a volé 3 billets de 2000 da pour se les partagés a trois.
J’était enragé et en colère et ils m’ont demandé de me taire sinon je ne voyagerai pas.
J’ai du malheureusement céder pour ne pas rater mon voyage mais j’espère que les responsables liront ce commentaire.
Je demande des conseils et de l’aide pour faire payer a ces voleurs leurs actes et pour que cessent ces comportements honteux qui nuisent à l’image de notre cher pays.
A qui dois je m’adresser pour sanctionner ces voleurs en uniformes.

What happened to OUR airport. I have traveled internationally many times, Rome, Amsterdam, London, Malta, Bahamas, Barbados, USA, Dominican etc. etc.. I have only traveled twice now since the pandemic. The first time after Covid I went to Barbados. No issues. Just went to Dominican and it took almost 2 1/2 hours to get checked in and through security. I DID ALL THE ONLINE BOOKING AND CHECK IN ONLINE!! On the way back was the real beauty, went to get our checked bag and it was announced flight 187 baggage would be on carousel 7. Then another announcement, sorry flight 187 baggage will be on carousel 10..so we all went over to that carousel like a bunch of lost penguins...sorry, flight 187 baggage will be on carousel 9...Wtf. 1 1/2 to get 1 bag!!! This is our airport and I am a proud Canadian but if I weren't from here I would never want to go through Pearson again. Actually, I'm hoping Porter will be going to more places so I won't have to go through such crap to go somewhere/return. I would give my last experience 0 stars but it won't let me. Come on! this was a world class airport not long ago!

Joli aeroport mais rien ne va ! 1/2h de marche entre terminaux sans aucune autre alternative, pas de prise pour recharger son telephone, pas d'espace fumeur, panneaux d'indication minuscules, mal placés et tres espacés les uns des autres, transit de nuit possible mais tout est fermé en ce qui concerne la restauration.... a eviter absolument, les mecs qui ont pondu ce lieu ne doivent pas prendre souvent l'avion.

Mille volte sono partita dall' aeroporto di Pisa per raggiungere diverse destinazioni e lo trovo sempre peggio, code infinite per i controlli
( due apparati sono sempre chiusi) personale maleducato e nervoso, trasferendo così l'imbarazzo tra le persone che si accalcano sia per i controlli sia passati questi ultimi. Dove anche per i gate si formano file infinite per colpa del poco spazio, i due bar ristoranti che si trovano all interno apparte essere molto cari, si presentano sporchi e con i frigoriferi caldi e aperti. I due bagni spesso chiusi. Incredibile. Un aereoporto dovrebbe essere come un biglietto da visita per chi entra nel paese . E questo di Pisa fa' tutto meno che una buona impressione.

Very poor service today at Lyon airport. The queue for security was extremely long and badly managed. Two scanners down at one time and no information from staff. Passport control was almost as bad. Will use Geneva in future.

One of the most stressful experiences at an airport I have ever had. From horrendous waits to get through security to feeling lost a lot of the time. The staff are very very rude and highly unprofessional. I never want to visit Berlin again because of this !
