Bus to Split and Trogir
The cities of Split and Trogir are both accessible by bus number 37, the bus departs in front of the airport terminal on the main road. The final stop in Split is Bus Terminal Sukoišan, located 750 metres north of the city centre (Diocletian’s Palace). From here you can reach the city centre by bus 9 and bus 10, or you can walk. A journey to and from Split takes 50 minutes, several stops are made along the way. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver for the price of 17 HRK.
The bus station of the beautiful Trogir is located on the Croatian mainland next to the bridge to the island of Trogir. Bus number 37 runs every 20 to 30 minutes in the direction of the airport from Split (platform 4 or 5) and Trogir (platform 8). Please consult website and timetable bus number 37 for more information.
Ferry to Brac and Hvar
In Split you will find the harbour (cruises and ferries), the bus station and railway station all in one place, within walking distance of the historic centre and Bacvice Beach. The port of Split is a busy place, but you’ll need to be there for the ferries heading to the islands of Brac and Hvar. Jadrolinija is the company with the largest fleet and a reliable provider, it’s probably your best choice. The best known routes are Split – Supetar (Brac, 50 minutes), Split – Stari Grad (Hvar, 2 hours) and Split – Hvar Town (Hvar, 1 hour and 5 minutes). It is possible to bring a car on the first two mentioned services. Split – Hvar Town is a catamaran service and only accessible to persons. It is best to buy tickets before departure through the website of Jadrolinija.
You can not book a Free Walking Tour in Split, it is prohibited by law. Of course there are alternatives for a small price, like this city walking tour with professional guide.
Boat to Split, Brac and Hvar (Split Express)
Since the summer of 2019 it is possible to take the new express boat from Split Airport to the beautiful islands of Brač and Hvar, this service is operated by Split Express. Split is also directly accessible by boat. Unfortunately, there are only a few options per day. The latest timetable can be consulted via the website of Split Express. The boat leaves from the ferry pier, a 10-minute walk from the airport building.
The destinations are Split (15 minutes), Bol on the island of Brač (minimum 55 minutes) and Stari Grad on the island of Hvar (minimum 60 minutes). Travel time to both islands depends whether or not it is a direct service. The low fare prices for a single journey are 50 HRK to Split and 199 HRK to Brač and Hvar, children up to 2 years of age travel for free. Tickets can be purchased from the counter at the airport and through the website using a credit card. Please consult website and timetable Split Express for more information. Adriatic Express boats are available 24 hours a day, but are more expensive.
Pleso Prijevoz to Split
There is a direct connection between Split Airport and the centre of Split, operated by Pleso Prijevoz. In theory, the bus runs every half hour, in practice the bus leaves from the airport when it is fully occupied. It may be later or earlier, the timetable towards the airport is more reliable. The lower frequency and the higher price compared to bus number 37 is a disadvantage in relation to public transport. The shorter travel time (35 minutes) and the ability to get on and off the bus in the centre of Split is an advantage. The final stop of the bus is Split Main Bus Station near the main railway station and port of Split. Please consult website and timetable Pleso Prijevoz for more information.
