Train to Warsaw
Since the 1st of June 2012 it is possible to travel by train between Warsaw Airport and Warsaw. This is a faster travel option than the bus, the price makes no difference. The airport’s underground train station is called Warszawa Lotnisko Chopina and directly accessible from Terminal A. From Arrivals 1 you can get there in 2 minutes, it’s a 5-minute walk from Arrivals 2. A train departs in the direction of the city every 30 minutes. Rail transportation is carried out by SKM (suburban railway – line S2) and KM (Koleje Mazowieckie – RL). If you want to go to centre of the city, you should get off at Warszawa Śródmieście (line S2) or central station Warszawa Centralna (KM). Warsaw Airport is located in zone 1 / strefa 1.
Train tickets
The train journey takes on average 22 minutes, a ticket costs 4.40 PLN for both the red/white SKM trains and the green/white KM trains. You can buy ZTM tickets from the ticket machines on the way to the platforms. ZTM carries out public transport in the capital of Poland. If you are planning to use public transportation more often, it is better to buy a One-day ticket for 15.00 PLN, a Weekend ticket for 24.00 PLN or a 3-day ticket for 36.00 PLN. It can be very handy, because these tickets are not expensive and valid on the train (SKM and KM), bus, tram and metro (types of tickets). Public transportation in Warsaw is free for children up to 6 years, children aged 7 to 16 years can travel for half the price. Please consult website and timetable SKM and KM for more information.
Bus to Warsaw
Even though there is a train connection to Warsaw, there are still five public bus routes operating between the airport and Warsaw. Bus 175 makes many stops on the route, nevertheless it is popular among travellers. The bus stops at the airport are located in front of Arrivals 1, here you can find a Bilety / Tickets machine as well. The bus terminus is located in the centre of the city, at the Piłsudski Square (Plac Piłsudskiego). Travel time is 45 minutes and the price of a ticket is 4.40 PLN per person. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines at the bus stops and on the bus. However, paying in cash is not possible on the bus. During the night there are no trains to and from the airport, night bus N32 is your only option. The night line runs every day of the week between 23:15 hours and 04:50 hours.
