Train and S-Bahn to Zurich
Zurich Airport has its own railway station. From there you can catch the train (EC, IC, ICN and IR) and S-Bahn (S2 and S16) heading to Zurich Hauptbahnhof among other destinations. Every few minutes you will have a travel option, however in the early morning and late evening there are less travel options. A journey from the airport to the main railway station of Zurich takes 11 minutes on average.
Tickets are available from the ticket counters and ticket machines at Zurich Kloten Airport, a ticket for a single journey costs 6.60 CHF for adults and 3.30 CHF for children from 6 to 16 years (Einzelbillett 3 Zonen: 110, 121). Tickets are valid on all means of public transport for the length of 60 minutes, changing inside the city’s borders is allowed. Children up to 5 years travel free when accompanied by an adult.
Locations north of Zurich are better accessible by the Glattalbahn tram service, tram no. 10 runs to Zurich Bahnhofplatz via Glattpark Opfikon, Oerlikon and Irchel, tram no. 12 runs to Bahnhof Stettbach via Glattbrugg Opfikon and Wallisellen.
