Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport is the largest airport in Algeria. The airport is named after the former president Houari Boumédiène and the main hub for flag carrier Air Algérie. You can travel by train, bus and taxi from the airport to the city centre, within the city the metro is the fastest travel option.

The two largest airports in Algeria are Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport and Oran Ahmed Ben Bella Airport.

The airport is situated east of the city of Algiers. By car, you can get to the airport by following road N5/A1 (Autoroute Est-Ouest).

How many terminals does Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport have?

The airport has three terminals, namely Terminal 4 (International), Terminal 1 (International and Domestic) and Terminal 2 (Domestic). Terminal 3 is no longer in operation. Terminal 4 was officially opened in 2019, it is one of the most modern terminals in Africa. Thanks to the opening of Terminal 4, the capacity of the airport has grown to 22 million passengers per year. Terminals T1 and T4 are interconnected, it is just a short walk to Terminal 2.
