Beijing Capital Airport is the second largest airport in China, after Beijing Daxing Airport. It is currently the busiest airport in China and the second busiest in the world. In 2018, the airport handled more than 100 million passengers in one year for the first time in history. Beijing Capital Airport is home to Air China and an important base for China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
Where is Beijing Capital Airport situated?
The airport is located northeast of the capital of China. From the city, you can reach the airport via the Airport Expressway S12, which connects Beijing Capital Airport with Beijing.
How many terminals does Beijing Capital Airport have?
The airport has three terminals at its disposal, of which Terminal 3 is by far the largest. Terminals T1 and T2 are connected to each other on the landside via a footbridge. T3 is accessible from terminals T1 and T2 with a free terminal shuttle bus, it runs 24 hours a day every 10 to 15 minutes. Between the terminals you can also make use of the metro Beijing Airport Express.
Terminal 3 consists of three parts, namely the public part of the terminal (Terminal 3C), Domestic Terminal (Terminal 3D, gates D01 – D58) and International Terminal (Terminal 3E, gates E01 – E62). An Automated People Mover (APM) connects the three parts of Terminal 3. The automated trains run every few minutes.
