Beijing Airport Express to Beijing (Dongzhimen Station)

The Beijing Airport Express is the fastest and most comfortable way of travelling between Beijing Capital Airport and the city. Every 10 minutes between 06:20 hours and 22:50 hours a metro runs from Terminal 3 via Terminal 2 to Sanyuanqiao Station and Dongzhimen Station. The subway station at Terminal 3 is directly in front of the terminal and can be reached via a walkway from the Arrivals hall. Travel time from the airport to Dongzhimen Station in Beijing is 30 minutes from T3 and 21 minutes from T2. For a metro ride you pay a price of 25 RMB per person. Once arrived at Dongzhimen Station, you can change to Beijing Subway Line 2 which makes a round through the city (rectangular loop). Beijing’s metro system is relatively easy to use, because everything is not only written in Chinese, but also in English. Metro tickets in Beijing can be bought from ticket machines at the stations, you’ll have to pick your destination in order to buy one or more tickets. All machines are also available in English. For a single journey you usually pay between 3.00 RMB and 5.00 RMB. Like the Airport Express, the subway also uses a plastic card that you return when checking out. If you want to go from Dongzhimen Station to the Forbidden City, you can take metro line 2 in the direction of Dongsishitiao and change at Jianguomen to metro line 1 towards Pingguoyan.
