General information
Beijing Daxing Airport is a new and very modern airport in China, it is the second airport of the city after Beijing Capital Airport. Due to the rapid growth of the Chinese economy and the number of passengers at Beijing Capital Airport, construction of a new airport began at the end of 2014. The airport, consisting of one terminal and four runways, opened on September 25, 2019.
After the opening of Beijing Daxing Airport, Beijing Nanyuan Airport closed its doors and China United Airlines flights were transferred to the new airport. The airport is also called BDIA, an abbreviation of Beijing Daxing International Airport. The airport is expected to accommodate 72 million passengers by 2025.

Beijing Daxing Airport is located in Langfang (Hebei Province), south of Beijing and west of Tianjin. The G45 Daqing – Guangzhou Expressway and G95 Capital Area Loop Expressway are a short distance from the airport.
How many terminals does Beijing Daxing Airport have?
The airport has only one terminal, but it is one of the largest in the world. The terminal covers an area of 700,000 m2 and looks like a starfish (five concourses) from the sky. The airport is designed to minimize the walking distance for travellers, it takes a maximum of 8 minutes from the security check to the boarding gate. Beijing Daxing Airport will be able to handle 100 million passengers a year by 2040.
