Belarus

Belarus is located in Eastern Europe and is independent since 1991 and has around 9.5 million people living in the country. Belarus has two official languages: Belarusian and Russian. Belarusian is linguistically a mix of Polish and Russian. Citizens from these countries understand the language, while they do not understand each other’s language. The capital Minsk is just a 3-hour drive from Vilnius in Lithuania. Minsk used to have two airports in the past. Nowadays only Minsk National Airport is operational. This airport was formerly known as Minsk-2. The other airport, Minsk-1, is no longer in use. Information about the main airport in the country can be found here.
