Foreign rulers in particular benefited from this. On August 6, 1825, the country of Bolivia was founded, named after freedom fighter Simón Bolívar. In recent decades the number of tourists in Bolivia has grown, they enjoy the beautiful nature, friendly people and low prices. Well-known places of interest are Salar de Uyuni, La Paz, Camino de las Yungas, Potosí, Sucre and Lake Titicaca.
