General information

Brasília, located in central Brazil, is the capital of the country since 1960. Brasília Airport is named after Juscelino Kubitschek (1902 – 1976), a former president of Brazil and creator of the new capital Brasília. The airport is mainly used by GOL Airlines and LATAM Airlines, it is the busiest airport in Brazil after São Paulo Guarulhos Airport and São Paulo Congonhas Airport. Brasília is a planned city, seen from above it has the shape of an airplane. Praça dos Três Poderes is the cockpit, Asa Norte and Asa Sul the two wings.

The airport of the Brazilian capital is located just south of the city and is easily accessible by car via the Estrada Parque Aeroporto EPAR/DF-047.

How many terminals does Brasília Airport have?

The airport has a modern terminal consisting of a main building and two concourses/piers, namely North Concourse (Píer Norte) and South Concourse (Píer Sul). The majority of the flights are operated to domestic destinations, boarding gates 27 to 33 are reserved for flights to international destinations. The main building of Brasília Airport with the check-in desks, Departures hall and Arrivals hall is also known as “Corpo Central”.
