Bus to Bratislava
During the day Bratislava can be reached by bus number 61, you can take bus number N61 if you have to get to or from the airport during the night. Buses run between the airport (Letisko) and the railway station (Hlavná stanica) of Bratislava. Bus number 61 leaves on average every 15 minutes. If you want to go to the Old Town of Bratislava you can get off the bus at tram stop ‘Trnavské mýto’ (20 minutes) or tram stop ‘Račianske mýto’ (22 minutes). A centrally located tram stop in the city centre (Staré Mesto) is ‘Centrum’, close to well-known hotels. Travel time including a transfer from bus to tram is about 40 minutes.
Bus tickets
A ticket costs € 1.60 (3 zones) and is valid for 60 minutes including changes. Tickets are available in the terminal and at the bus stop. After buying your ticket, you need to validate it on board the bus. Bratislava Airport is located in zone 101, the city centre in zone 100 (counts for 2 zones). In Bratislava it’s not possible to buy a ticket directly from the bus or tram driver. For large luggage you need an extra ’30-minute discounted ticket’ priced at € 0.55, valid for 180 minutes on the IDS BK network. FlixBus to Vienna
FlixBus provides a fast bus service from Bratislava Airport to Vienna, the final stop in Austria’s capital is Vienna International Busterminal (VIB) next to metro station Erdberg. From here you can take metro U3 to Stephansplatz in the centre of Vienna. The bus leaves in front of the terminal, travel time is 1 hour and 25 minutes. Some buses run from the airport to Wien Hauptbahnhof, then a bus journey takes a bit longer. If you want to travel between Bratislava Airport and Vienna Airport, you can also travel by FlixBus, in this case a journey takes 60 minutes.
