Bus to Chania, Rethymno and Heraklion
Bus transportation between Chania Airport and Chania is accessible by the public transport company KTEL. Ten times a day a bus departs from the airport via Pazinos, Pithari, Korakies and Kounoupidiana to Chania, ten times a day there is a bus going in the opposite direction. The bus journey takes 30 minutes and a ticket costs € 2.50 per person. From Chania Bus Station you can walk to the city centre or catch a bus to other destinations on the island, such as Heraklion.
The capital of the island is accessible by bus from the central bus station, travel time is 2 hours and 45 minutes. A ticket for this bus costs € 15.10 per one-way journey. Every hour till 21:45 hours a bus departs from Chania to Heraklion, intermediate stops are made in Georgioupoli, Kavros, Rethymno and Bali. Rethymno is the third largest city in Crete and a popular seaside resort, accessible by bus of KTEL in around 75 minutes. The price of a single ticket from Chania to Rethymno is € 6.80. A couple of times per day, a bus runs directly from the airport via Souda to Rethymno, tickets cost € 8.00 per person. Please consult website and timetable KTEL for more information.
