General information

Chicago’s second busiest airport is named after Midway, in honor of the Battle of Midway. The airport is a large square block in the southwest of the city, the five runways are situated like a cross through the square. The terminal is located on the eastern side of the airport. Chicago Midway Airport is a base for Southwest Airlines, the low-cost carrier is responsible for 95% of the total number of passengers. Chicago has two major international airports, Chicago O’Hare Airport in the northwest of the city and Chicago Midway Airport in the southwest of the city.

The airport has a terminal with three concourses. Concourse A (A1 – A19), Concourse B (B1 – B26) and Concourse C (C1 – C3) are connected by a walkway to the Main Terminal (Check-In & Baggage Claim). Central Market with shops, food and drink options is located between Concourse A and Concourse B.
